Dr. Ceyda Bilgir grew up in Turkey and received a BS degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Bogazici University, in Istanbul, Turkey. After college, she earned a MS degree in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology at the University of Michigan, where Dr. Bilgir worked for eight years as a Research Specialist. During this time, she also earned a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration at Eastern Michigan University. Dr. Bilgir earned her DVM degree from the University of California, Davis.
Prior to joining the Springfield Animal Hospital team, she practiced at Columbia Pike Animal Hospital and Emergency Center as an intern. Her special interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, emergency medicine and urgent care, companion exotic pet primary care, feline medicine, and supporting TNR programs.
Outside of work, Dr. Bilgir enjoys Argentine Tango. Though she does not have any pets currently, Dr. Bilgir is a profound cat lover. She truly enjoys practicing Fear Free medicine as much as possible.
