Dr. Michael Bissell
 |
Dr. Bissell has been with the Springfield Animal Hospital (SAH) since 1991. SAH, known previously as Noffsinger Animal Hospital, was started by Dr. Glenn Noffsinger in the late 1960s.
Originally from Bethesda, Maryland, Dr. Bissell traveled extensively throughout Eastern and Western Europe and lived in West Germany and Italy for close to 10 years. On returning to the U.S., Dr. Bissell continued to follow his passion to work as a veterinarian. Dr. Bissell is graduate of the College of Agricultural Economics at University of Maryland, College Park and the University of Turin Veterinary School.
Dr. Bissell began his veterinary career in a mixed animal practice in upper Westchester County, NY. When his wife started her medical residency on Long Island, NY Dr. Bissell followed to a small animal practice in Nassau County, on Long Island. After finishing medical training in New York State, Drs. Bissell decided to return to his native Washington, D.C. area and settled in Fairfax Station, Virginia. Dr. Bissell and his wife, an OB/GYN who practices in Alexandria, Virginia, have four children and three dogs (Captain, Vito and Dolce).
Dr. Bissell continues to enjoy international travel, tennis and Krav Maga. Dr. Bissell is a member of the AAHA, AVMA, VVMA and past president of the NVVMA. |

Dr. Aime Berman

Dr. Aime Berman is from the Philadelphia area and graduated in 1997 from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine.
Prior to veterinary school, she was involved in Chinese American Relations, having studied East Asian Studies and Mandarin Chinese in college. She has traveled extensively in The People's Republic of China, and this country remains a passion of hers.
She married a science teacher and they have three children and three dogs. After having babies, Dr. Berman plans on studying veterinary acupuncture and its application to dogs and cats. |

Dr. Kathleen Phillips
 |
Dr. Kathleen Phillips, a Buffalo, New York native, is a graduate of the University of Rochester and Cornell University.
An avid football and hockey fan, she spends much of the year following the ups and downs of her favorite teams. During the off-season, she enjoys exploring the Virginia countryside for good red wines and planning trips to far off destinations like Tuscany and Key West.
She shares her life outside the hospital with her husband Matt and their two beautiful cats, Melody and Greta and precocious pug puppy named Wesley. |
